After she appeared on TV's Will & Grace, she told People, "To some I am already a gay icon because of characters like Cruella De Vil (in Disney’s 101 Dalmatians) and Norma Desmond (in Broadway’s Sunset Boulevard)."

She's also the proud recipient of a GLAAD award.
