Kramer Vs. Kramer
One of the first movies to dive into the nitty gritty details of divorce, the flick also tackled the shifting gender norms of the era where it depicted a father desperate to keep his child and a mother disinterested with the responsibility of motherhood. It became the highest grossing film of 1979, and received nine Oscar nominations, winning five of the most important: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Leading Actor (Hoffman) and Best Supporting Actress (Streep).
