20. 1965: Cherry-Pick
The slang term added to the dictionary in 1965 is a descriptive one we all still use today. Cherry-pick, a we know, refers to someone hand selected, just like cherries are hand picked. Well, at least they used to be hand picked. Maybe they aren't anymore.
