Despite having millions of fans worldwide, there’s one person who’s just not that into Dolly Parton’s music: her own husband. Say it isn’t so!

The Queen of Country, who was recently honored at the Grammy’s with the MusiCares Person of the Year award, sat down with Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway earlier this week to talk about her career and the West End premiere of 9 To 5: The Musical. And one of the most fascinating tidbits to come out of the conversation was that Carl Thomas Dean, her husband of nearly 53 years, doesn’t particularly like her songs.

"He's not necessarily one of the biggest fans of my music," Parton said. "He's proud of me, and he loves that I love what I do but ... It's a touchy subject. I'm like his little girl, and he worries about that."

“He likes hard rock and Led Zeppelin and bluegrass music,” she added. “He doesn’t dislike it. He doesn’t go out of his way to play my records, let’s put it that way.”

Fans reacted with a mixture of shock and amusement on Twitter. Most pointed out that even if he’s not her biggest fan, the couple has a long-lasting relationship that’s rarely seen these days, especially among stars.
