Live Like Barbra Streisand In This $11.25M New York Penthouse
Even if you don't have the coin to buy the star's former Central Park West duplex, it's fun to dream, right?
If by any chance you've got $11.25 million to spare, and you've got a taste for Manhattan luxury, then we've got just the thing for you. Barbra Streisand's former penthouse is on the market, and it's every bit as elegant and impressive as you'd imagine.
The 3,670-square-foot duplex is at the top of a 22-story Emery Roth-designed Art Deco building and features four bedrooms and three-and-a-half baths.
Streisand moved to the property in 1963 and lived there for more than 30 years. The current owners purchased the duplex in 2002, and while they've made some changes to the layout, the bedrooms and kitchen remain mostly untouched, according to The New York Times. Word has it that the TV den used to be her personal hair salon!
Of course, even if you have upwards of $11 million, you may still need to pull some strings to get the property. Rumor has it that Mariah Carey offered to pay $8 million in cash for it, but was rejected by the building's co-op board.
Just like Babs herself, the penthouse is full-fledged New York, from the historic Central Park West location to the panoramic cityscape views. If you want to live large in New York, this is the way to do it. But don't take our word for it. Scroll through the pics on our sister site, Lonny.
