Haircuts To Avoid So You Don't Look Like A 'Karen'

15. Feathered Hair
There's a dated quality to feathered hair. Jane Fonda first made it famous in the 1970s, then women hair sprayed it into oblivion in the '80s, and finally the look had a resurgence in the early 2000s with the flipped-out-layers trend. While the feathered look definitely was stylish during its trending years, it looks outdated when worn today. And it's usually outdated hairstyles that are earmarked as "Karen" hairstyles.

If you like this look but want a more contemporary version, lightly flip out the layers and use a soft hand with setting spray. You don't want the layers to wing out like they do here.
