4. What's Not To Love About Alaska
Certainly, we would assume that climate and environment would be major factors for people choosing to leave Alaska. But jobs also factor in. In 2018, Alaska had the second highest unemployment ranking in the United States. Plus, the state has a high cost of living. For example, the cost of living in Fairbanks is 33% higher than the national average. 

Given the extreme weather, high cost of living, and high unemployment rate, it's no wonder people just don't want to live in Alaska anymore. But thankfully, the moose aren't going anywhere!
