'Antiques Roadshow' Tells Us Their 20 Favorite Antiques Over The Years

9. Julius Adam II "Kitten Symphony" Oil Painting, ca. 1885
Appraised Auction Value: $8,000  – $12,000

"The painting has been in the owner’s family since she was a young child and hung in her parents’ bedroom. They had not paid much attention to it as it was passed around to different family members. The frame of the painting has the date of birth and death for Julius Adam Senior despite the artist being his son, Adam Junior. The son studied under his father who was also known for painting cats. The title “Kitten Symphony,” was given to the painting by an unknown source."
