When we were kids, Christmas was fun and we got so excited about traditions like getting a tree, hanging the ornaments, and the tinsel was actually made of metal. On Christmas morning, there were stockings to empty and gifts to enjoy. And for dinner, there was a turkey, mashed potatoes, and, of course, a Jell-O concoction of some sort. It was the the'50s and '60s, after all.

Times were seemingly simpler then. No social media, no requests from kids for the latest iPhone, and family time was abundant around the time Santa Claus came to town.
