As life expectancy increases, the number of years of a woman's life spent in menopause has gone up too. Currently, the average woman spends about a third of her life in menopause.

While we are all aware of the obvious effects of menopause on our bodies, like the cessation of periods, hot flashes, and night sweats, there are other changes that take place when our bodies stop producing estrogen.
